One photograph at a time
ThePHOTO.one starts with a simple idea: give one photograph all the space it needs to be seen. Once selected, your image becomes the photo of the moment. It is visible to every visitor, with no feed, no likes, and no immediate competition. It remains online for at least four hours. If another photo is selected during that time, it waits its turn. After that period, the next photo takes its place. If the queue is empty, the current image stays online until another is approved; the new photo is then published immediately and begins its own four-hour period.
An online exhibition on a human scale
This online photography exhibition does not try to recreate the pace of social media. Here, an image is not lost among hundreds of others. Every change creates a new moment of discovery. For visitors, it is an invitation to pause. For photographers, it is a simple way to present their work in a quiet setting where the image remains at the centre.
Submit an image
Every photographer can submit an image to be featured. Your name appears directly on the photo as a credit. You may also add a link to your website or Instagram profile: the credit then becomes clickable. It gives visitors who connect with your image a direct path to your visual world, your portfolio, and your other projects, without turning ThePHOTO.one into a directory.
Images selected with care
We look for carefully considered photographs with a clear intention: framing, light, composition, or subject matter that has been deliberately explored. There is no required genre; what matters is an image that carries a point of view. Everyday snapshots, selfies, pet photographs, and family pictures without a photographic approach generally do not fit the project. Each submission is reviewed before publication to preserve the quality of this showcase for photographers.
How to take part
Submitting a photograph does not require an account. Simply enter the name to display as your credit, your email address, and, if you wish, a link to your website or Instagram profile. One submission per person is possible every six hours. After approval, your photo joins the publication queue. If your email address has been granted automatic publishing, future submissions can be published more quickly.
Your image remains yours
The photo you submit remains your property. It is used only for display on ThePHOTO.one; it is never sold, transferred, or reused elsewhere. Our role is to give it a moment of visibility, not to turn it into content to exploit. ThePHOTO.one is intended to remain a quiet place to share work and discover, one image at a time, the vision of the people behind it.
