Behind the images

I love the spontaneity of photography in the street, capturing moments that come and go in a heartbeat. It’s helped by living in Toronto which has a vibrant street scene and is one of the most diverse cities in the world. For me, street photography is all about people - their interactions with each other and with their environment. If my images evoke an emotional response in the viewer or prompt them to complete a narrative, then I feel that I’ve succeeded. When I spot interesting people or some striking light, I’ll happily wait for long periods for something compelling to unfold. I love the creativity that street photography offers at all stages, from seeing an unusual moment, to composing and capturing the event, and then processing the image to best convey its message.
